摘　　要：随着人们对宽带无线通信需求的不断增加，无线宽带通信向更高速率、更大的覆盖范围、更好的移动性方向发展。如果说无线局域网技术解决了“最后一百米”的接入问题，那么WiMAX技术则是“最后一公里”接入的最佳解决方案，论文对WiMAN技术的原理及特点进行研究，并结合该技术发展的最新进展，分析与展望WiMAX技术固定与移动环境下的无线接入应用前景。Wireless broadband communication is developing with higher rate, wider ranging and mobility. WiMAX technology satisfies the need of wireless Internet. WLAN resolves the problem of last one hundred mile access, then WiMAX will become the best scheme of last one kilometer access, construing principle of teclmiques and analyzing characteristic of technique.The paper expect foreground of each broadband wireless access standard base with the application area of WiMAX.
