摘　　要：China's first ultra-high voltage tower prototype was successfully tested in October. The test result will offer reliable parameters for the design of transmission tower. The test was conducted on the prototype of ZM2 tangent tower. Its final design was finished by the Mid-South China Power Design Institute. The ultra-high voltage AC ZM2 tower is of cathead structural type. The tower is 59 m in nominal height and 79.3 m in full height, and it weighs 59 tons. The tower body and part of lower crank are made of high-strength Q420 steel.China＇s first ultra-high voltage tower prototype was successfully tested in October. The test result will offer reliable parameters for the design of transmission tower.
