Eighty-seven cases of juvenile cervical spondylosis were treated with a total effective rate of 100%. Of 62 cases observed and followed up. 8 were recurrent with a recurrent tate of 12. 9%. Through analysis, it was believed that juvenile cervical spondylosis is clinically characterized by acute attack, severe symptoms, short courses of treatment and significant results, and the main pathological changes include cervical injury, accumulative strain of the muscles and ligaments, dysfunction, etc, which reduced the supporting and proterting effects on cervical vertebrae, affected the balance between bones and joints and led to the structural changes and instability of cervacal vertebrae. Following that, the physiological curvature abnormity was produced. This is also an important factor canusing the clinical serial symptotns, which should not be overlooked. The combined therpy inclti`]ing traction and rnanipulations could correct the above pathological changes and thus retnit the sympto'ns i the phytlical therapy and functional exercises could improve the functions of the nerves and muscles, and maintain the stability of cervical vertebrae. Avoiding injury.correcting daily unhealthy posture, selecting hygienic pillow with rational height and making cervical fit-keeping massage have active function of consolidating the therapeutic effects and preventing the recurrence.
