Objective: To explore the effects and mechanisms of microcirculation blood flow(MBF) by manual acupuncture stimulation on meridional point and non-meridional point.Method: The Changes of MBF of Twelve Classical Channels' meridional point, para-meridian point and non-meridional point were measured in 30 healthy subjects by laser Doppler Flowmeter before and after acupuncture. Results: MBF of meridional point was much higher than that of para-meridian point and non-meridional point (P<0.05). After acupuncture, MBF of meridional point obviously increased in the Twelve Classical Channels, however, MBF of para-meridian point did not produce significant response. The difference of variation of MBF between meridional point and control was significant (P<0.05). After acupuncture, MBF of non-meridional point in the Twelve Channels increased, but it showed no significant difference(P>0.05).There was an evident difference between MBF of meridional point and that of non-meridional point. Conclusion: Our results proved that the phenomenon of Propagated Sensation along Meridian could be objectively detected, moreover, the detection of microcirculation could provide more information for studying the physiological mechanism of Meridians.
