英汉双语心理词典中英语单词的存储单位——一项实验研究

摘　　要：本文通过心理语言学实验研究了英语单词在英汉双语心理词典中的存储单位。讨论英语单词在英汉双语心理词典中的存储单位实际上就是讨论英语简单词、复合词、派生词和屈折词在英汉双语者大脑中的存储单位。主要调查了三个问题:(1)英语复合词的存储单位是什么?(2)英语派生词的存储单位是什么?(3)英语屈折词的存储单位是什么?通过分别对比受试对英语复合词与其相应的单词素词之间的反应时、英语派生词与其相应的词根之间的反应时及英语屈折词与其相应的原词之间的反应时,我们发现不同类型的单词是以不同的形式存储在双语者的大脑中的:复合词和派生词是以词素的形式存储的,而屈折词则是以整词的形式存储。由此得出结论:在英汉双语心理词典中既有以词素的形式存储的单词,又有以整词的形式存储的单词,英语词汇在汉语学习者的双语心理词典中是混合存储的。The paper studies the storage units of English words in English-Chinese bilingual mental lexicon based on the data obtained from a psycholinguistic experiment. It mainly investigates how the acquired English compound words, derivational words and inflectional words are stored in English-Chinese bilingual mental lexicon, with a view to answering the following three questions: (1) What is the storage unit of English compound words (2) What is the storage unit of English derivational words and (3) What is the storage unit of English inflectional words By comparing and analyzing the subjects' responding time to compound words, derivational words and inflectional words and their corresponding mono-morphemic words, we find that these three kinds of words do not share the same storage unit: compound words and derivational words are stored as morphemes in the mental lexicon while inflectional words as whole words. Taking English simple words into consideration, we come to the conclusion that in our English-Chinese bilingual mental lexicon, some words are stored as morphemes, while others as whole words.
