Reliable statistics are thus indispensable to policy makers. While the two systems of macroeconomic statistics highlight particular aspects of the economy, They should, in principle, use broadly the same basic concepts so as to form an interconnected system that is internally consistent. This workshop focuses on the most important concepts underlying the different sets of accounts and on the interconnections between them.
