摘　　要：文章论述《中国语言生活状况报告(2005)》是一份真实的中国语言使用状况的国情报告;还从我国的语言特点论述了语言状况研究大有可为;并认为应当在社会语言学下设立一个新的分支——语言生活状况研究。This paper illustrates that The Language Situation in China 2005 is a reliable report based on the language situation in China, and in light of linguistic features of the languages spoken in China. It is claimed that the research on the language situation in China is a potential area which may yield fruitful results in the future. It also argues that a new branch of sociolinguistics, i.e. research on the language situation be established.
