摘　　要：有关面对面交际中对反讽接受程度的研究是反讽研究中被遗忘的角落，更不用说相关的跨文化研究。本文试图通过对比分析美国英语和汉语的电视辩论语料，揭示中西文化在相似语境下对反讽话语的不同接受程度，从而探讨造成这些差异的语用因素和文化因素。The study of the reception of irony in contexts of face-to-face interaction becomes a neglected area of irony research,let alone its crosscultural study. This paper is devoted to the contrastive study of responses to ironic utterances in American English and Mandarin Chinese based on data from formal TV debates. The study aims to find out the differences in the way people accept irony in similar contexts between the two distinct cultures and to explore the possible pragmatic and cultural factors that give rise to these differences.
