摘　　要：阐述了智能天线技术的基本原理和发展过程及其在第三代移动通信系统中的应用和挑战。分析了智能天线技术在3G系统中应用的优点以及所面临的挑战。指出智能天线技术所具有的良好发展前景,使人们对智能天线技术保持较高的期望。This article elaborateS basic principle and the developing process of the smart antenna technology. It also elaborates the application and the challenge in the third generation mobile communication system. It analyzes the merit of the smart antenna technology application as well as the challenge faced in the 3G system. Finally it pointes out that the smart antenna technology has the good prospects for development.
