摘　　要：本文阐述了国外数字图书馆产生的背景以及发展方向,全面回顾了十年来中国高等教育数字图书馆建设和发展的历程,介绍了CALIS、CADLIS、CADAL、CASHL等项目的基本情况和特点。同时分析了中国数字图书馆建设中存在的主要问题,认为大力发展数字图书馆是中国实施科教兴国和知识创新战略的有力信息保障。The paper reviews the course of digital library＇s development in China and abroad and concisely introduces the basic points of the projects, such as China Academic Library ＆ Information System （CALIS）, China-America Digital Academic Library （CADAL）, China Academic Digital Library ＆ Information System （CADLIS）, China Academic Humanities and Social Sciences Library （CASHL）. To devote major efforts to developing the digital library is the pow erful informational guarantee of carrying out the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education as well as blazing new trails.
