摘　　要：地球科学不仅肩负着科研责任(学术责任),而且还肩负着社会发展和人类需求所赋予的文化责任。本文从三个方面阐述了地球科学的文化责任。其一,地球科学文化是统筹人与自然和谐相处的理论基础和智慧引导平台;其二,地球科学文化可以为13亿中国人的科学素质提高上层次、上高度;其三,地球科学文化可以为社会主义文化建设提供取之不尽的新鲜血液。Earth Science takes not only the scientific research responsibility called, but also the culture responsibility needed by the human being and society. This paper discusses the earth science＇s culture responsibility from the following aspects. It＇s the theoretical basis and introductory wisdom platform that coordinates the harmonization between Human Beings and nature. It improves the public science literacy and it provides new blood to socialistic cultural construction.
