摘　　要：通过实地调研,分析东莞半城市化发展过程。将东莞半城市化区划分为不同的地域类型,分析这些地区空间发展的差异及其驱动力,认为区位、大型交通基础设施和外资对其影响程度最大。从土地扩张、人口流动和经济结构重组的角度分析东莞半城市化过程的特征,认为4大因素将影响其发展,即:尚不明晰的土地租赁和土地流转政策、社会保障不足导致的技工短缺、社会歧视引起的工人流失和各地区为吸引外资不明智的竞争。提出相应建议:1)进一步促进社区建设以提升城市发展的软环境;2)探索土地股份制以加快半城市化地区户籍人口的城市化进程;3)降低户籍门槛以鼓励已就业流动人口成为本地居民;4)通过政府提供的各种培训,培养更多的技工。As the most vigorous development area in the context ot metropolitan region,peri - urbanization process has drawn great attention to academic society since 1980s. Many outstanding findings and progress have been harvested on this issue so far. However, the existing studies were mainly focused on the descriptions of peri - urbanization features and its dynamics between different countries and different regions without giving enough efforts on the studies of peri - urbanization process in a specific city. Through an on - spot intensive field investigation, this paper is trying to analyze the peri - urbanization development in Dongguan municipality, a very dynamic FDI - driven city in China. Starting with delineating the typology of peri - urban areas, the paper explores the relationship between the spatial development difference of these areas and the driving forces. It argues that the major factors for shaping the spatial pattern in Dongguan are mainly location, key transportation infrastructure and FDI attracted. Following by analyzing the characteristics of peri - urbanization process in Dongguan in terms of its spatial expansion, population movement and economic restructuring, the paper diagnoses 4 factors that will hinder the future peri - urbanization development of the city, i. e. the improper land policies with confused land tenure system and difficulty of land transaction; lack of skilled manpower induced by weak provision of social security to migrants; high drainage of migrant labors due to their low social status remained unchanged for years;and inanely competition for attracting FDI between different areas. Based on these perspectives, the paper offers some suggestions for the city： 1）to improve further the construction of the communities to enhance its soft - environment ;2）to explore the land shareholding reform to speed up the urbanization process of its local registered permanent residence population;3）to low down the threshold of local registered permanent residence to encourage migrants w
