The properties associated with oil displacement and laboratory experiments, such as flow properties, viscosity, stability, and filtration are discussed. The mechanisms of enhanced oil recovery by foam flooding are described. Foam can not only improve sweep efficiency but also enhance oil displacement efficiency. The field application of foam flooding and the good results in Shengli oil field are discussed in detail. In the well group of Shengtuo 3-5-23, the validity period was three years,the oil increment was up to 50000 tons. and the ratio of input to output reached 1:10 in the four months of implementation stage. In the well group of Cao 20-10-18, the oil increment was more than 6000 tons in 8 months, and the water cut decreased by 5% ̄8%. In the well group of Cao 20-19-13, the oil increment was 5000 tons in 6 months, and the water cut decreased by 10%. Foam flooding is a promising technique for enhanced oil recovery.
