摘　　要：农民的知识化、现代化是新农村建设的前提和条件。本文以湖南衡阳农民为个案,探讨在新农村建设背景下的农民素质现状,试图寻求提高农民素质、加快社会主义新农村建设步伐的路径。Knowledgeable and modernistic farmers are the premise and condition of the construction. This article takes Hengyang farmers as an example, discusses the situation of farmers＇ quality under new-countryside construction. It aims at finding out ways to quicken the pace of socialism new-countryside construction and improve the quality of farmers.
