摘　　要：康拉德在《黑暗之心》里虽然揭露了殖民主义对非洲和土著黑人的压迫和剥削,但是非洲在他的笔下是一块危险,神秘,荒芜的土地;非洲人是原始,野蛮,迷信的人群。康拉德的描写符合了西方对非洲的一贯表述,体现了康拉德的欧洲中心主义观念以及身为欧洲人的优越感。非洲在《黑暗之心》里被东方化,成为欧洲构建自己身份的他者。Conrad in Heart of Darkness exposed the West＇ s oppression and exploitation of the native people in Africa, Africa is described dangerous, mysterious and wild; Africans are primitive, savagery and superstitious. All this fits the western stereotypes of Africa and reveals Conrad＇ s superiority and Eurocentricity. Africa in Heart of Darkness is orientalized. I will support my idea from the following aspects ： the misrepresentation or description of Africa and the Africans; Africa＇ s being blamed to be responsible for the white＇ s degeneration and destruction;the narration in the novel is unfavorable to Africa.
