To observe the effects of Hu Wen Toxin-I(HWTX-I) on morphological changes by Nissl staining of hippocampus CA1 pyramidal neurons of global cerebral ischimia reperfusion rats, activity of SOD, CAT in brain and the content changes of MDA, HWTX-Ⅰ's mechanism of relieving global cerebral ischimia reperfusion damage is researched, so as to offer new effective treatment to cranicerebral injury in clinic. SD rats was randomly divided into the false operation group, the physiological saline group and 3 administration groups, by adopting the model of improved Pulsinelli 4-vessals occlusion global cerebral ischemia damages combined with the methods of playing anaesthesic tube into intrathecal space, staining the rats hippocampus CA1 pyramidal neurons and determining all rats SOD, CAT activity and MDA content in brain. The results are as follows: 1. HWTX-Ⅰ can obviously relieve the damage of hippocampns pyramidal neurons in global cerebral ischimia rats. 2. HWTX-Ⅰ can obviously increase the activity of SOD and CAT in global cerebral ischimia rats and decrease MDA content noticeably. Therefore, HWTX-Ⅰ has obviously neuro-pretective effects on rats neurons damages induced by global cerebral ischimia reperfusion.
