Statistical Analysis of 2 Hours Postprandial Blood Glucose from Four Nateglinide Randomized Controlled Clinical Trials

摘　　要：Objective To evaluate 2 hours postprandial blood glucose of nateglinide tablet administration in comparison with that of repaglinide tablet as control on treating type 2 diabetes mellitus by employing meta-analysis and covariance-analysis. Methods Four multi-centre, double-blind, randomized clinical trials within 12 weeks of treatment duration with similar research protocols were pooled. Meta-analysis and analysis of covariance （ANCOVA） methods were applied to assess baseline and 2 hours postprandial blood glucose of nateglinide and repaglinide administration. Results The results by meta-analysis were comparable to the outcome obtained with the ANCOVA method. The means of 2 hours postprandial blood glucose （PBG） in both the nateglinide and repaglinide groups was reduced significantly after 12 weeks duration. However the differences in reduction between the two groups had no statistical significance. Conclusion Both nateglinide and repaglinide administration have similarly significant effects on reducing PBG
