摘　　要：为了巩固潮侨关系,槟城的潮州会馆每逢节日向神明举行祭祀,献上戏剧,戏剧非潮剧不可。潮帮的组织和祭祀观念,在槟城或南洋华侨之中,与传统的中国宗族主义结合是最为突出的。综观南洋华侨诸帮相传的戏剧,潮剧是保留古老戏剧形式的独一无二的剧种。从槟城潮帮的祭祀活动与潮剧的演出,可以看出,第一,潮帮是特别尊重中国中原文化的族群;第二,潮帮内部组织是以宗族观念为核心的。In order to solidify the relationship within the overseas Chinese from Chaozhou,the Chaozhou Guild Hall in Pulau Pinang holds fetes on the occasions of festivals,and puts on drama,and Chao Opera is the only choice.The combination of the notions of organization and fete of the Chaozhou Community with the traditional Chinese clanism is quite prominent among the overseas Chinese in Pulau Pinang as well as Southeast Asia.A survey of Chao opera passing on one generation after another among the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia reveals that Chao opera is a unique form of play.It can be seen that Chaozhou Community is a group of people that is most concerned about the traditional culture of Central China.Besides,the internal organization of Chaozhou Community has the notion of clanism as its core.
