摘　　要：与《恨海》同年出版的《禽海石》,自问世之日起就为人们所漠视,百年后的今天依然进入不了文学史、小说史的叙述视野。实际上,同为晚清社会言情小说,符霖的《禽海石》无论在主题意蕴的丰富性、思想倾向的进步性方面,还是在小说叙事艺术的试验与探索方面,其成就均在吴趼人的《恨海》之上。《禽海石》不愧为晚清写情小说中一朵不可多得的奇葩。Though published in the same year as Henhai, Qinhaishi has been ignored since its birth and still finds it unable to enter the histories of literature and the novel. In fact, Qinhaishi by Fu Lin surpasses Henhai in its rich thematic implications, progressive ideology as well as experiments and explorations on the part of narrative style. Qinhaishi is no doubt an outstanding work among the romantic novels of the Late Qing dynasty.
