摘　　要：从两个不同的方向记述了天一阁藏书楼四百多年来的藏书发展史,旨在从不同的角度了解天一阁藏书楼的历史,明白其在中国藏书文化史上的地位与影响。This paper has given an account of the Tianyige Loft （the earhest ancient private library in China） from two different orientations from which reveal its over four-hundred-year developing history of coUection of books： （1） the longitudinal way from chronological development and （2） the transversal way from its prosperity and decline of coUection of books and the contributions to the society as well. The author describes the book-collecting history of the Tianyige Loft and reaches a further understanding to its status and influences in China＇ s of book-collection history.
