Objective To investigate the infection trends and drug resistance of Mycoplasma from the urogenital tract for the guidance of rational use of antibiotics in clinical practice. Methods Mycoplasma-cultures,identifies and drug sensitive tests with the use of IST kit were conducted in specimens from urogenital tract of 478 nongonococcal urethrifis(NGU) patients. Results 43.51% of the cases(218/478)were positive in the Mycoplasma culture,36.82%(176/478), 1.67% (8/478) and 5.02%(24/478) for Ureaplasma urealyticum (Uu), Mycoplasma hominis(Mh) and Uu + Mh respectively. The positive rate of Uu was significantly higher than of Mh or Uu + Mh ( P 〈 0.01). The female positive rate of Mycoplasma was 55.05 % (158/287) and the male 26.18 % (50/191) ( P 〈0.01 ). The sensitivity of Mycoplasma to antibiotics was as follows from high to low Pristinamycine (99.04%), Doxycycline (91.83%), Josamycin(88.94%),Tetracycline(75.00%), Ofloxacin(38.94%) and Erythromycin(14.42%). Coadusion Mycoplasma is one of major pathologenic agent of urogenital infection. The infection percentage of Mycoplasma is higher in the female than in the male. Monitoring drug resistance of Mycoplasma is of great imprtsn.
