摘　　要：党的十六届五中全会明确提出,扎实稳步推进新农村建设。作为建设社会主义新农村主体力量的农村人口,是当前面临的一个重要问题。要扎实稳步进行新农村建设,必须有效控制农村人口数量,提高农村人口质量和优化农村人口结构,实现农村人口的可持续发展。Rural population that is the main body strength of the socialism new rural construction is an important problem we face now. To carry on the new rural construction solidly with steady steps,we nust control rural population quantity,improve the rural population quality and optimize the rural poulation structure so as to realize the rural population sustainable development.
