摘　　要：奥古斯特.威尔逊的作品致力于表现20世纪美国城市黑人生活的各种经历,他所刻画的各种人物形象与历史分离疏远,失去了与非洲文化身份的联系,对其文化身份感到困惑,开始寻找精神上的救赎和文化上的再联系。在这些人物身上,过去和历史对他们现在的梦想和理想有着重要影响,他们的个人经历象征着美国黑人斗争和生存的历史。威尔逊认为今天的美国黑人只有通过恢复与非洲的联系、承认非洲的文化遗产才能在精神上得到救赎;他通过过去与现在的联系、对时间的种族化和空间化的处理以及布鲁斯音乐,构建出一部20世纪美国黑人的历史。As one of the most preeminent playwrights in the contemporary American theatre, August Wilson reviews African American history in the twentieth century by creating black characters who, displaced and disconnected from their history and from their individual identity, are in search of spiritual resurrection and cultural reconnection. For these characters, past events have a commanding influence on their present dreams and aspirations. Their personal stories are inextricably linked to the history of African American struggle and survival in the United States of America. Wilson believes that the salvation of today's African Americans rests on renewing ties with Africa and acknowledging their African heritage. Through the connection of past with present, the ritualizing of the time and space, and the blues music, Wilson builds his own Pittsburgh Hill District world by righting the African American history.
