摘　　要：劳伦斯在《虹》中,通过对布莱文家族三代人婚姻中的剧烈冲突和细微甜蜜的刻画,戏剧性地展现了作者对和谐两性关系的探求。从女性主义文学批评角度审视《虹》,剖析劳伦斯对调整两性关系道路的追寻,探讨他在小说《虹》中寻求通过双性人格的培养来改善两性关系的尝试。《虹》是一部具有浓厚的女性主义文学色彩的作品,它展示了劳伦斯对以男权文化为中心的文明社会中女性的生存现状的关注。In The Rainbow, Lawrence dramatizes his own quest for a balanced sexual relationship as he chronicles the bitter struggles and little sweetness in the marriages of the three generations of the Brangwen family. Lawrence himself shares with Carpenter＇s view that androgynous personality is conductive to mutual understanding and allows each one more freedom and separateness in a love relation. What Lawrence really has been concerned about is individual liberation rather than feminist movement as a means to women＇s emancipation. It is narrow-minded to stamp Lawrence as anti-feminist or pro-feminist, because his novel, on one hand dramatizes the exploration of individuality on the individual level and in relationship between the sexes on the part of people of his time, especially women and himself, and on the other hand their bitter conflicts and bewilderments in this process.
