Objective: To discuss the influences of three compound anti--hypoxic drugs on hemoglobin (Hb) of roadmen rapidly ascended to high altitudes at different time. Methods: The subjects were divided randomly into the group A , B ,C and the control group (Group D) of 22~23 persons each; the group A, B, C and D was taken the CoⅠ, CoⅡ, CoⅢ and placebo respectively (3 time/day) when they begun route until 3 weeks. The level of Hb was measured after arrive to the work--sites at the altitude of over 4,600 meters on the days 1, 3, 7 and 15. The results were compared with that before taking medicines. Results: There was a great difference (P〈0. 01) of HB between before and after the first exposed altitude day in each group; and a difference existed (P〈0. 05) among the 1st, third and 15th day in each group. Comparison of on dayl with on day 7 for HB had a significant difference (P〈0. 01) in each group but the group B. P〈0. 05 for comparison of HB between the day 3 and the dayl5 in the group A and group C. Conclusions: The Col, CoIl, ColII anti--hypoxic drugs can improve the function of carried oxygen in erythrocyte to varying degrees. Col and ColII drugs have preferable effects.
