摘　　要：结合对威廉·米切尔的新书《我++:电子自我和互联城市》的内容简介,从学术环境、网络获取能力、研究经费、研究付诸实践的机会等方面对比一个中国建筑师所处的现实环境,指出我们需要一个积极的想象空间,提出在看清差距的同时,还要有对文化的自信,因为汉字本身就包含了想象空间。Based on a brief introduction of William J. Mitchell＇ s Me ＋ ＋ ： The Cybrog Self and the Networked City, this paper contrast what the book imaged against a Chinese architect＇ s real world from academic environment, access to internet, research fund, chance to apply research in practice, etc., and point out that we need a positive imaging space. Furthermore, this paper argue that we should have self-confidence in Chinese culture while realize the gap, because there is imaging space in Chinese characters originally.
