摘　　要：介绍ArcView GIS软件的主要特点,结合森林资源规划设计调查工作过程,论述ArcView GIS软件在林业专题图制作应用中的基本原理和主要步骤。以林相图的编制为例,阐述其在林业专题图编制中的流程以及成果图的输出和打印,并进行应用前景分析。The paper introduces the major characteristics of ArcView GIS software and the fundamental principles and essential procedures of its application to forestry thematic mapping, based on actual process of forest resource inventory, planning and design. Taking the programming of forest stand as an example, the paper elaborates the flow, output and printing out of result diagrams with the software in the forestry thematic programming, meanwhile it conducts an analysis on its vision as well.
