Objective To investigate the effects of neutralizing antibody to VEGF in agglutination of tendon allogeneil graft. Methods Using profound hypothermia homogeneous variant tendon graft to repair the defects of New Zealand albino rabbit: the experiment group: around the tendon dropwise with polyclonal antibody of VEGF, the control group dropwise with Sodium Chloride. Put the animals to death in 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 8 weeks separately postoperation. Samples were un- dertaken general observation, histological observation, collagen assaying and biomechanical test. Results Adhesion score of tendon in the experiment group is better than the control group. The phlegmasia cell population and newly born micrangium of the experiment group is less than the control group in the early postoperation. The collagen contents have no obviously discrepancy in two groups at the same time, but the arrangement of collagenous fibers of the experiment group is better" than the control group on postoperation 8 weeks. Biomechanical test shows there is no significant deviation in two groups in broken load. Conclusion Topical application of neutralizing antibody to VEGF on tendon allogeneil graft can lessen adhesion of tendon graft, but has httle effects on tendon heal.
