“一介之使”再辨——兼谈量词“介”的发展

摘　　要：上古汉语“介”有名词和量词两种用法。《史记》“一介之使”是“一个普通的使臣”的意思,“介”为量词,有“微小”的内涵。作“宾方传话人”、“副使”解的名词“介”是与古代聘问制度相关的语词,其内涵随着这种制度的发展变化而变化。量词“介”可能来源于名词“介”。Chinese ancient language ＂Jie（介）＂ has two grammatical functions. One is used as a noun, the other is a classifier. The phrase ＂Yijie zhi Shi（一介之使） in Shiji（史记）＂ means an ordinary messenger. And the word ＂Jie（介）＂ in it is a classifier which has a meaning of small. ＂Jie（介）＂ as a noun is concerned to ancient etiquette in official meeting, which means an assistant messenger or an intermediary man. And its meaning is connected with the development of such a social system. The one as a classifier perhaps comes from the other one.
