摘 要:传统偏振方法监测光信噪比的准确性易受偏振模色散和非线性双折射影响,提出了一种新的偏振正交外差监测方法以克服传统偏振监测方法的缺点。该方法通过将信号分成两个支路并控制偏振态达到相对偏振态正交,用偏振正交的两支路信号外差混频消去信号,通过测量保留下来的差拍噪声实现对光信噪比的监测。仿真试验证实,该方法对偏振模色散和非线性双折射引起的信号偏振态变化不敏感。The veracity of conventional optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) monitoring technique based on polarization property is easily affected by the polarization mode dispersion and nonlinear polarization scattering. A novel orthogonal polarization heterodyne OSNR monitoring technique which can overcome the problem was demonstrated. This new technology is implemented by first splitting the signal into two branches and polarization of one branch is adjusted to achieve the states of polarization of the egress signals from the two branches are orthogonal. The signal element is eliminated in the heterodyne mixing by making the two signal spectral components orthogonally polarized to each other. Then the OSNR is determined by measuring the noise beating terms in the radio frequency. It is proved by simulating that the new scheme has inherent immunity to polarization mode dispersion and robustness to nonlinear polarization scattering.
