摘　　要：背景 广州市政府于2002年组织了广州市第二少年宫国际建筑设计邀请竞赛,最终,美国SBA建筑设计有限公司的设计方案中标,于2006年建成并投入使用。Guangzhou, located in south China about 110 miles northwest of Hong Kong, is China＇s 3rd largest city with a population in excess of 5 million people. Its rising economy has led to vast improvements in its infrastructure, urban planning and development. Along with commercial, residential, road and rail/ aviation network upgrades there has also been a surge of development in the civic architecture of the new urban center. The Children＇s Activity Center is the first of four major civic buildings to be built in the city＇s new central public quadrangle which will also include a library, performing arts center and museum,
