摘　　要：一般认为,西欧的现代化进程起于16、17世纪。事实上,发生于此时的西欧经济的起飞是11世纪左右西欧生产奴隶消亡的结果。生产奴隶的消亡导致了劳动的自由化,为市场经济的孕育、诞生创造了条件;是市场经济的孕育和发展才导致了西欧资本主义的产生和英国的脱颖而出,因此,生产奴隶的消亡是西欧现代化的源头。Some people thought the process of modernization of Western Europe began from the 16 and 17 century and attributed the launching of it to the respects of the discovery of New Continent and etc.In fact,the extinction of the productive slaves of Western Europe in the 11century was the most important reason to make the west head toward the capitalism.The extinction of the productive slaves led to the spread of the subjects of power,and then brought about the liberty of labor and the separation of the right of labor and right of money,and created the conditions for the birth of market economy;and it was the growth of the market economy that led to the emergence of capitalism of Western Europe and the predominance of England.Therefore,the extinction of productive slaves was the source of the modernization of Western Europe.
