摘  要:Video coding and streaming in ad hoc video sensor network for applications such as emergencies requires low complexity and low power consumption both at the encoder and the decoder with desirable video quality. Distributed video coding (DVC) scheme provides a lightweight encoder but a heavy decoder. Motion compensation interpolation (MCI), which is a power-consuming task at the decoder, can enhance the DVC decoding quality. However it is unnecessary and inefficient to perform MCI at all the terminals. In this paper we proposed a cooperative Adaptive distributed video codec (ADVC) for ad hoc video sensor network based on multilevel coset codes. To obtain high coding efficiency, unlike other proposals that adopt a powerful proxy, we seek to share this power-consuming task over some powerful mobile terminals in a collaborative way, which we called cooperative power-aware MCI-load schedule strategy. The simulation results showed the proposed cooperative ADVC scheme has a better rate-distortion performance than non-adaptive Distributed video codec (DVC) and the proposed strategy prolongs the network lifetime and leverages the power consumption of terminals.
