摘　　要：索引在治学和科学研究乃至于日常生活中都有着重要的意义,我国索引编纂的历史源远流长。尤其是汉以来,历经各代努力,索引的编制和理论的研究取得了很大成就,特别是中国索引学会成立以来,索引学的研究推向了新的高潮。The index takes a significant role in scholarly research and scientific research, and in our daily life as well. The index compilation has gone through a far long history in China. Especially since the Han Dynasty, with the effort of each generation, the index compilation and its theoretical research had gained great achievements. After the foundation of the Chinese Index Association,the study about index has been making new progress.
