摘　　要：爱德华·艾比是美国西南部最重要的作家之一,终身致力于西南部沙漠地区的保护事业。本文通过介绍他的代表作《大漠孤行》,向读者展示艾比对沙漠、对大自然真挚的热爱和对以破坏沙漠为代价的工业化发展的坚决抵制,尤其对他不矫饰、不虚妄的印象主义的写作风格加以评介。Edward Abbey was an important American southwestern writer who had devoted himself to the defense of the desert regions in southwestern America. This article introduces one of his masterpieces, Desert Solitaire, and discusses how Abbey displays his passionate love for nature and unfaltering protest against industrial development by means of an impressionistic style.
