Employing Platelet Alpha Granule Membrance Protein 140 (GMP 140) as indicator for platelet activation, determination has been made for the plasma's GMP 140 concentration for 74 cases of diabetes,36 cases of cardiovascular disease and 53 cases of rend disease and comparison has been made for the GMP 140 values determined respectively among the above mentioned three groups of diseases and between the group of bolld stasis syndrome and the group of non blood stasis syndrome.THe results showed that the GMP 140 values determined in the three groups of diseases are found higher than those of healthy people and the GMP 140 ualues are found no marked differences among the three groups of diseases but are found marked differences between blood stasis syndrome group and non blood stasis syndrome group. It is indicated that among the above mentioned three diseases, the increase of GMP 140 values has idiosyncratic links with neither of those diseases but is closely related to the blood stasis syndrome. The GMP 140 of thoes clinically diagnosed as blood stasis syndrome is found sharply increased while the GMP 140 of those clinically dignosed as non-bblood stasis syndrome is found considerably increased, indicating a latent blood stasis syndrome. It is concluded that GMP 140 may be chosen as a laboratory indicator to diagnose the blood stasis syndrome.
