摘　　要：湖南棒蝠蛾是亚香棒虫草、古尼虫草和粉背虫草的寄主昆虫，是分布于我国南方山区、丘陵地珍贵的昆虫资源。１年１代，以蛹越冬。幼虫主食多种树木落下的枯叶。还就该虫的栖所、食性、幼虫虫龄和龄期、交配、繁殖力。Napialus hunanensis Chu et Wang is the host insect of insect herbs, which are Cordyceps hawkesii , C. gunnii and C. pruinosa . It is a precious insect resource distributing in the mountains and hills in south China. It has only one generation in a year and overwinters as pupa. The larva mainly eats the falling leaves of many kinds of trees.The habitat, feeding habits, larva instar and stadium, mating, fecundity, habits of each stage of the insect and its growing period duration of the host insect are also reported in the paper.
