摘　　要：刚刚结束的8月,酷暑的天气很热,而与天气一样充满热度的是我国重卡用柴油机行业。8月,我国重卡用发动机行业热点频发,先是8月8日西安康明斯发动机有限公司开业;后是8月22日道依茨一汽（大连）柴油机有限公司正式开业;此外,上汽依维柯红岩动力总成有限公司发布消息称，该公司计划国产化生产依维柯Cursor9系列（10L）发动机和其他柴油机产品，而且计划在2008年正式投产。Recently, the establishment of several international businesses involving joint ventures in the engine business has become a ＂hot issue＂ in the industry, which is a prediction of the coming fierce competition among diesels in the heavy-duty truck area. Tiffs article analyzes the development trends of engines for heavy-duty trucks and the possible competitive situation in the industry from the following three aspects——status of product structure of diesels for heavy-duty trucks, what impact the joint ventures will bring to diesels and how the local diesel manufacturers will meet the challenges.
