摘　　要：日裔小说家石黑一雄第三部作品《长日留痕》题材与前两部大相径庭,然而主人公史蒂文斯身上表现出的"管家性格",与日本传统的"武士道精神"仍保持一致,在这个形象背后是作者对民族与历史更为客观和立体化的审视,体现出了"国际化小说"的倾向与追求。The Remains of The Day, the third novel of Japanese born novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, widely diverges trom the earlier two bOoks in its subject. However, the character of the hero, Stevens the butler, is still consistent with traditional Japanese Bushido. The novel reveals a more objective and stereoscopic observation on nations and history and embodies the author＇s inclination and pursuit of ＂international novel＂.
