摘　　要：设计了一个PPU(Protocol Processing Unit,协议处理单元),实现了有线DTV双向传输系统中多个模块之间通信的协调功能.该PPU采用了ASIP的设计方法,根据模块间具体的通信特点设计了模块专用接口、中断机制和专用指令,提高了硬件资源的利用率,具有很好的功能可扩展性和灵活性.同时设计了精简的汇编代码,仿真结果表明该代码在对模块接口的响应上具有很好的实时性.综合结果表明,PPU能够提供多种吞吐量.This paper introduces a PPU（Protocol Processing Unit） that control the communication among multiple modules for two-way cable DTV transmission system. Based on ASIP （Application Specific Instruction Processor） design methodology,modules-specific interface.interrupt and special instruction are designed for PPU for communication control over specific modules. According to specific-design,PPU has improved efficiency of hardware resources,good scalability and flexibility. The simulation result shows that it is of very real time for handshake signal of modules interface by reduced assemble code designed for PPU. Furthermore,the synthesis result proves PPU can provide multiple throughput.
