赵元任先生对汉语语调研究的贡献

摘　　要：本文回顾了赵元任先生在汉语语调研究方面的贡献，同时对当前汉语语调研究领域内的一些问题进行了溯源、梳理和评述。作者将赵元任先生对语调研究的贡献归纳为五个方面：1）区分汉语的字调跟语调；2）重视对汉语连读变调与轻重音的研究；3）提出汉语语调构造雏形；4）对汉语语调进行形式一功能的划分；5）指出“未来”语调研究的方向、方法。文中指出，赵元任先生关于汉语语调研究的思想大多得以被后人继承并有所发展，但也有一些提法存在一定的局限性，并引起了后世的争论。This article reviewed Prof. Y.-R. Chao＇ s contribution to the research of intonation in Chinese. The author summarized Chao＇ s work in five respects ： 1 ） distinguishing tone from intonation; 2） studying Chinese tone sandhi and stress; 3 ） introducing Chinese intonation structures ; 4） categorizing Chinese intonation in forms and function; and 5） pointing out further-referring area. Comparisons have been made between current research and Chao＇ s. It was remarked that most of Chao＇ s ideas were extensively accepted and developed while some showed limitations and are center of discussion at present.
