摘　　要：介绍了国内外各地的社会阅读活动,探讨开展社会活动的意义:扩展图书馆的服务范围,提高图书馆的社会影响力,辅助素质教育,创建和谐社会,并提出了推动社会阅读活动的策略:加大宣传推广力度,拓宽阅读范围,善用社会资源。Drawing on the experiences of the social reading activities in America, England, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the author looks at the significance of social reading activities such as enriching library services ,improving the social force of libraries, assisting quality education, building the harmonious society. The author also puts forward some practical suggestions for the implementation of social reading such as promotion, extending the reading scope, cooperating with social institutions.
