摘  要:该项目在亚洲沙尘暴的源区、发生、输送、沉降形式以及天气、气候和沙漠化因素对其影响程度等多个关键方面取得创新性研究进展。首次通过明确的证据指出,天气、气候因素而非沙漠化因素是控制亚洲和我国沙尘暴发生的主导因素。政府间气候变化委员会第4次评估报告中引用了此项目获得的四方面的成果:亚洲沙尘暴源区分布图,亚洲沙尘总释放量及对区域和全球的贡献,气候因素较沙漠化因素对亚洲沙尘暴有决定性作用,The project made innovative progresses in 2006 in such critical aspects as the sources areas, formation, transportation, and deposition modes of dust storms, as well as the extent in which the weather, climate, and desertification affect dust storms. It was proved with definite evidences for the first time that weather and climatic factors, rather than desertification, determine the occurrence of dust storms over Asia. The IPCC forth assessment report quoted the findings of the project such as the distribution map of dust storm sources areas over Asia, the total amount of dusts into the air over Asia and its contribution to the regional and global totals, the critical role of climate (rather than desertification) in the formation dust storms in Asia,
