摘　　要：《北华捷报》素有"中国外文第一报"的称誉,具有很高的社会文化价值,它对"西学东渐"和"东学西渐"均产生了积极的影响。同时,由于它对晚清政治、经济、军事、外交等方面的影响,奠定了在言论界举足轻重的地位。This paper has introduced the initiation, the development and features of North-China Herald and analyzed its social and cultural value which exerts great influences on cross-cultural communication between China and West countries. Meanwhile, the essay has commented on the Sino-foreign relations on political, economic, military and diplomatic aspects.
