论苔丝悲剧的偶然性与必然性

摘　　要：《德伯家的苔丝》中的女主人公苔丝生活在维多利亚时期的威塞克斯地区,苔丝的悲剧具有时代的典型性,导致她悲剧的原因既有偶然性也有必然性,本文主要从这两个角度对她的悲剧进行了探讨。她的失贞,被克莱抛弃又落入亚雷的手中导致了她的悲剧,看起来是偶然的,但是在这种偶然性背后,苔丝的经济状况,资本主义道德标准,宗教,以及她自身的性格弱点等诸多因素使她的悲剧具有必然性。Tess, the protagonist in Tess of the D＇ Urbervilles, was a typical model of the Victorian age. Her tragedy is typical. The causes to her tragic life not only lie in its coincidence, but also in its inevitability. This paper mainly elaborates her tragic life from both coincidence and inevitability. Her losing virtue,being deserted by Angel and falling into Alec again seem accidental apparently, which lead to her tragedy. However, behind these, the tragedy has its inevitable factors such as her economic conditions ,the capitalist morality, religion and her own weaknesses in her character.
