摘　　要：美国史学家J.布卢姆认为1867年以后的25年或更长一些是美国历史上的“纯洁阶段”。“纯洁阶段”的存在和终结有其历史原因;但期间美国对萨摩亚群岛的占领无疑是“纯洁阶段”不可抹杀的一记污点。American historian J·M· BIum holds that the year from 1867 and the following 25 years or longer is the Pure Period in American history. The exisiting and end of Pure Period had historical reasons, but America＇s occupation of Somoa was undoubtedly an ineffaceable stain during Pure Period .
