摘　　要：植物种质资源是育种家用来选育新品种的遗传材料,是提高农业生产力的基础资源,也是植物遗传多样性的重要体现,世界各国都非常重视植物种质资源收集、保存、评价及利用研究。为此对美国关于植物种质资源的收集、保存、评价和利用情况及种质资源库的运行管理方式作了介绍,以供我国育种工作者学习和借鉴。Plant germplasm resource is the genetic resource for plant breeders to develop new cultivars, base for agricultural productivity increase, as well as a reflection of plant genetic diversity. Lots of attention was paid to plant germplasm resource collection, conservation, evaluation and utilization. This paper introduced the plant germplasm resource situation of the U. S. , as well as operation and management of its gene bank to provide reference to plant breeders in China.
