The usually used buckling criterion of drill sting is Lubinski's axis critical force when investigating the buckling of drill sting in deep well. However, this criterion is obtained in studying the buckling of drill sting at static state. In engineering, the drill sting will be affected by factors. As a result, there are defects in this criterion. Consequently, this paper investigates the relationship between the axis force of gravity force under helical buckling, centrifugal force and deviation angle. The energy method is employed to study the bulking load of drill-pipes under centrifugal force and the axis force of gravity force in slant well. The emphasis is placed upon the influence of the axis force of gravity force, centrifugal force and deviation angle on the bulking load. Considering the inertial eccentric force, deviation angle and the axis force of gravity force, under the same conditions the helical buckling load increases nonlinearly with the increase of the well deviation angle. Rotation speed can reduce the helical buckling load, and the degree of reduction increases with the increase of deviation angle. The effect of the tubing weight per unit length on the buckling load varies with the deviation angles and buckling mode.
