摘　　要：根据韩礼德的系统功能语法理论对比分析美国飓风之后布什总统的演讲和民众给布什的一封公开信。通过及物性分析、语篇功能分析、人际功能分析等,将双方为了坚持自己的立场而选择的含蓄或直白的语言进行合理、透彻的解析。This article makes a comparative analysis of U. S. President＇s address on the next day of Hurricane Katrina and an open letter to the President under the guidelines of Systemic Functional Grammar. To focus on their attitudes, only those sentences that describe actions taken by the government are selected for analysis. It will demonstrate how language is organized to realize particular purposes by different people from different perspectives toward one same situation.
