中外大学校长任期比较研究及其启示

摘　　要：中国和外国的大学校长在任期长短、任职年龄等方面均存在很大的差异,大学校长的任职期限和任职年龄影响到了大学的发展。通过对中外大学校长的任职年限、出任年龄和校长任期与大学发展的关系的比较考察,笔者认为,中国在建设世界一流大学的过程中,要充分考虑大学的特殊情况,高度重视并充分发挥大学校长在大学发展中的重要作用;大学校长任期限制得不宜过严;大学校长的长期任期制可促进大学的可持续发展;大学校长任期一般不应该少于10年;大学校长任职应该"年轻化"。Great differences exist in term and age of president tenure between Chinese and foreign umversities, me term and age of university president tenure affect on the universities＇ development. Based on the comparative study of the term and age of university president tenure, and the relationship between the term of president tenure and the development of university, the authors consider that during the process of constructing the first-class world universities,China should fully consider its peculiar circumstances,and pay great attention to the vital role of university president and fully develop their impact on university＇s development. What＇s more, the tenure of university president should not be excessively limited,because the long-term tenure may promote universities＇ sustainable development. It is also suggested that the university president＇s tenure should not be less than 10 years in general and the age of holding the post should be ＂youth oriented＂.
